Yeah sorry mate any time I had for indie music died when I was 15 Some of this new stuff is ok but I just find it all pretty bland and uninspiring. Also, I can never be arsed with the way people who really like indie are always so bloody excited about everything, gets right on my tits. Its all about the prog rock, bring on a revival! I sound like an old man....

Thats the problem mate - there just isn't enough ,or i haven't found it!
Still gotta love Pink Floyd I can never get bored of it, but of the newer stuff its probably best represented by prog metal like Tool - f**king wicked. The first Perfect Circle album is pretty good too, and for total prog rock mentasm and self indulgence I love DreamTheater \m/

Still gotta love Pink Floyd I can never get bored of it, but of the newer stuff its probably best represented by prog metal like Tool - f**king wicked. The first Perfect Circle album is pretty good too, and for total prog rock mentasm and self indulgence I love DreamTheater \m/ Tool is decent and i didn't mind Perfect Circle's first lp. Haven't heard any dream theatre but i heard bare about them. Pink Floyd is great late 60'S early 70'S era but they took on a more convential, popular musical structure afterwards. There lp, Meddle is my favourite. Theres alot of heavy physcadelic prog out there mate that requires advanced music listening capabilities to understand. Gimps pass it off a 'pretentious' but music is all about expression, not some 3 minute chorus/verse formulaic pop song with simple melodies that takes seconds to decipher. Its far more complex and features stunning musicians getting the most out of there instruments (e.g. King Crimson, Circle, Gordian Knot, Djam Karet, Hawkwind, Gong, Soft Machine Can, Faust, Magma, Goblin, Amon Duul, Caravan, Bodkin, Cirkus, Fantasy, Druid, Camel, Opeth, Rush, Jethro Tull, Van Der Graaf Generator, Yes). Don't get me started on pyschadelic prog jazz otherwise i'll be here all night.

Shit man thats great work! You're damn right about the different technique of listening to this stuff though, it takes some time and effort to get into usually but its so worth it! Having said that, its the reason I never find out who likes it cos I've given up trying to play it to people! Anyway, great effort with the band list mate I'll start checkin them out
