I never really listened to ex's show but from what I gathered he played hip hop from all across the board right? A Doc Brown track would come right after a Kanye joint...

Yeah exactly. and he had mad love for and personally knows a lot of the underground uk artists, its a real shame but hes gonna be doing a lot of stuff still....blakey doesnt seem too bad so far, dunno how much love hell show to underground uk but time will tell!

obviously this is important to yourself, but for the ordinary Joe tuning into 1xtra who loves his hip hop, wouldn't he prefer to listen to a show more like Semtex's rather than one like Ex's who plays hip hop to support a scene...

for me, a show playing banging tunes would be the best, regardless of the type of hip hop...good hip hop's good hip hop.

Yeah but your missing the point - semtex is already there and playing all that sort of stuff...u can listen to him if u want but theres a lot of heads who wanna hear what Ex was playing...the stuff that always gets pushed to the margins, that is actually 'good hip hop' but doesnt get any industry support...i personally dont like most of Semtex's show, its like listening to MTV base mixed with CHannel U

Yeah, Basically Ex was supporting Indapendant and unsigned Hip-hop...

...and semtex plays Crunk and Grime!!!

yeah thats what I mean...if you listen to Excalibah's show then your listening to unsigned talent, a lot of which you've probably never heard of. Semtex is playing crunk and grime...fine, its not to everyones tastes, but to those who enjoy it, then they'll be listening to all the best songs in that particular genre...
